Neil Sugarman, co-founder and principal at Sugarman and Sugarman, P.C., a leading personal injury law firm based in Boston, has been featured in this year’s New England Super Lawyers.
The Cover Story “An Everyday Guy from Dorchester” highlights Neil’s 50-year career in the practice of personal injury law. The article details his determined approach and highly successful representation of his injured clients in “…navigating the complex, emotional waters of personal injury cases, earning a reputation as one of the most celebrated litigators in the region.” Neil notes that although people say a good trial lawyer is an actor, he does not believe as much. “I think a good trial lawyer is very human and very professional at the same time.”
This remarkable story also shares a glimpse of Neil growing up in the working-class neighborhood of Dorchester. As a young man, he observed Paul Sugarman, his brother and co-founder of the firm, in his practice as a trial attorney – this was Neil’s inspiration in attending law school. After graduating from law school, Neil served in Vietnam as a captain in the U.S. Army Signal Corps before returning to Boston to practice law with his brother. His illustrious career then began. Paul states in the article that “[s]uccess in many ways, is its own definition. Neil helped build this practice. People like him. He’s respected, which speaks to his honesty and integrity. I don’t care what category you go to, he meets all the standards.”
Among his growing multitude of accolades and accomplishments, Neil was selected for inclusion in both New England Super Lawyers 2017 and Massachusetts Super Lawyers 2017 in Boston Magazine.
